The government on Tuesday decided to privatise four trains running between Rawalpindi and Lahore between June 15 and 20.
The Pakistan Railways (PR) General Manager Junaid Qureshi told media that the PR had earned profits of Rs 2.5 billion in the last year.
He said that this vital state institution could be made more profitable if provided with adequate funds.
To a question, he said that the business train owed Rs 350 million and its administration had assured to deposit it by December 2013.
