A court in Abu Dhabi ordered former Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) chief Tauqir Sadiq to be handed over to Pakistan within a month, a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official said on Monday.
The court order against Sadiq was given on the request of the Pakistani government.
Sadiq has been declared a proclaimed offender and is also a principal accused in a Rs 82 billion corruption case.
He fled abroad soon after the Supreme Court declared his appointment as OGRA chief void on November 25, 2011, and ordered NAB to arrest him.
Sadiq managed to leave the country despite his name being on the exit control list (ECL).
Two former prime ministers, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, have been accused of being involved in the illegal appointment of Sadiq.
