The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandia on Monday adjourned the disqualification case of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Saad Rafique till June 11.
The applicant, Shahid Orakzai had pled that the Mian brothers and Khawaja Saad Rafique were involved in the Supreme Court (SC) attack case. He said that the SC’s verdict in this connection was available; therefore, they should be disqualified.
The LHC registrar objected that the applicant had not filed the case in the Election Tribunal first, because of which the application was not maintainable. The court said that if the applicant could prove his case then the registrar’s objection would be withdrawn.
