IG given free hand to restore peace in city

The Sindh cabinet has given free hand to the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take every possible measure to restore peace in the metropolis.
Talking to media after cabinet meeting that lasted for four hours, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said SPs, DSPs and SHOs will be held accountable for targeted killings that occur in their respective jurisdictions.
He furthermore asserted the IG had been informed that police officers would have to face suspension if targeted killings happen in their respective areas.
Within six months, he noted, Karachi circular railways would be inaugurated in Karachi and within a month, 200 new buses would be brought on the city roads. Another 7500 jawans would also be added to the Karachi police, he added.
