PPP will not tolerate revenge in guise of accountability: Khurshid Shah

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader and party nominee for leader of opposition in National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah said PPP will not tolerate PML-N’s revenge tactics under the cloak of accountability.
“If the PML-N government holds us accountable we will support them wholeheartedly but if it takes revenge from us in the guise of accountability we will not tolerate it at all,” he said while talking to journalists outside the NA building on Saturday.
He went on to say that during the previous term, PPP was the ruling party and PML-N occupied the opposition, adding that the roles had reversed.
“We will support good deeds of the government and discourage wrongdoings on its part,” Shah stated.
Full opportunity will be provided to the government to work and no hindrances will be created in its way,” he added.
He held that Nawaz Sharif had said amid charged slogans that the PPP government had miserably failed on the issue relating to drone attacks but now the attacks were posing a bigger challenge to Sharif than energy crisis. “We should go for a dialogue with the US to stop drone strikes,” he stressed.
PPP government always pursued a policy of reconciliation and we will also introduce the same policy while sitting on opposition benches, Shah said. “I will try my best to take along Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership by taking them into confidence,” he added.
