The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Shura rejected resignation of its chief Syed Munawar Hasan who decided to relinquish the post after the party’s failure in the recent general election.
A private news channel quoting sources reported on Saturday that Munawar Hasan presented his resignation to the shura but was asked to continue with the job.
The body was of the view that not only organisation but establishment and other factors also played a role in JI’s election failure.
