The district municipal services department has devised a flood relief programme for the upcoming monsoon season and started desalinating nullahs in Rawalpindi.
Four emergency flood centers have also been established. They would be functional round the clock. Further, the Rawalpindi District Coordination Officer (DC) Rashid Mehmood Langerial directed the Municipal Administration Services Executive District Officer (EDO) Raja Zaheer and Solid Waste Management District Officer (DO) Dr Mazhar Azeem to start the desalination process of all small and big nullahs in the city with the help of sanitary workers and machinery so that smooth drainage for rain water is arranged.
