- Photography competition raising awareness against child marriages announced
An international Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) called Rutgers WPF working for the protection of reproductive health and the rights of young women, on Friday launched a picture competition against child marriages and safer motherhood.
The competition has been launched under the social media campaign, open for all till June 8 under the categories of “Honour your Mother “and “Early Marriages-A threat to Safe Motherhood”.
A Rutgers WPF representative said that the competition is titled “A Safer World for Girls” in view of the increasing prevalence of child marriages in South-Asia.
He informed that their aim is to pay tribute to mothers along with highlighting the issue of child marriages linked with a boarder concept of safe motherhood.
The representative strongly encouraged students and professional photographers from all South-Asian countries to apply, adding that winners would receive cash prizes, appreciation certificates and souvenirs.
