In a pre-dawn raid on Friday, Frontier Corps personnel killed a cousin of self-exiled Baloch leader Khan of Kalat and whisked away another of his cousin.

According to family members, some two dozen FC personnel conducted a search operation of all houses belonging close relatives of Baloch nationalist Khan of Kalat Mir Suleman Daud.

During the operation, the personnel wanted to whisk away two real brothers Agha Mahrab Khan and Agha Najib Ahmadzai, but in the wake of scuffle, one of the security personnel shot Mahrab at a close range.

As a result bullet hit Mahrab’s throat and he died due to excessive loss of blood. Before returning, the security personnel whisked away Mahrab’s younger brother, Agha Najib, 19.

Meanwhile, FC spokesman said in a press release that the FC personnel conducted a search operation on Sariab Road on a tip off for the arrest of two miscreants associated with banned Baloch Liberation Army.

He said during the search, one of the miscreants opened fired on security forces, but was killed when FC personnel returned fire.

He said that the second miscreant succeeded in escaping from the scene.

A senior FC official rejected the allegation that FC had detained the brother of Mahrab, saying the person killed in the encounter opened fire first while his accomplice succeeded in escaping.
