Close aide of Mullah Nazir killed in Wana

An important commander of the Mullah Nazir group was killed in firing by security forces at Ziari Noor Army Colony check post on Thursday.
According to details, Commander Sher Khan Wazir, a prominent commander of the Mullah Nazir group which is considered to be pro-government, was on his way from his ancestral village Shah Alam to Rustam Bazaar in a tinted glass vehicle when security forces stopped him at the Ziari Noor check post.
The militant commander was annoyed at the directive and a fight broke out between the two sides. The military personnel opened fire, killing Sher Khan Wazir on the spot. Security forces handed over the body to the heirs after keeping it in custody for several hours.
Sher Khan was considered a very close aide of Mullah Nazir, who died in a US drone attack recently. Commander Sher Khan played an important role in fighting against Uzbek, Tajik and Chechen fighters in 2007.
