School principal in Orangi Town shot

The school principal of Al-Khayyam School in Karachi’s Orangi Town was injured after being hit by a single bullet on her ankle, police said on Thursday.

According to investigating officer Safdar at Iqbal Market police station, Rehana Rehman, 35, was inside her home in Orangi Town when a bullet “came from outside and hit her.”

A resident of Iqbal Market in Chishti Nagar, Rehana’s husband, Atta ur Rehman, is an Imam and works at Karachi Port Trust.

The police said that no one in the area admitted to having seen anything, including who fired the shot, adding that they were investigating.
