Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Qaim Ali Shah was officially sworn in as the chief minister of Sindh on Thursday.
Shah was elected by the Sindh Assembly with 87 votes for an unprecedented third consecutive term as the provincial chief minister.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Syed Sardar Ahmed and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional leader (PML-F) Imtiaz Sheikh, also contesting the seat, received 48 and 18 votes, respectively.
Earlier on Thursday, PPP leaders Agha Siraj Durrani took oath as the Speaker and Shehla Raza as the Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly.
Raza garnered a total of 86 votes to secure her position.
As someone from Sindh, I'd say this is a profoundly dark day in the history of Sindh. But then again, you get what you deserve. People in Sindh voted for these incompetent morons, like Qaim Ali Shah, and corrupt ghundas, like Aghan Siraj Durrani, so here they are again for 5 more years. God bless Sindh. God bless Pakistan.
