The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Thursday directed the Civil Aviation Authority to stop receiving entry fee from passengers and relatives at Benazir International Airport.
A bench heard a petition filed by Raja Samiul Haq Satti in which the CAA DG, chairman Pay and Pension Commission, the chairman NAB, the manager Logistic Park and contractor were made party.
The petitioner was of the view that at nine airports of the country entry fee could not be received but Rs 20 were received from each passenger and their relatives at Benazir airport. He said the Defence Ministry had allowed the collection of entry fee, but the ministry prosecutor denied the blame.
The court after conclusion of arguments in its brief verdict directed the CAA DG to immediately stop collecting the entry fee.
