The caretaker provincial government on Monday sent a summary to the provincial governor regarding the newly elected Punjab Assembly’s first session is likely to be held on June 1, with Shahbaz Sharif all set to resume his duties as the province’s chief minister, official sources said.
The session would be held with the governor’s approval, in which the newly elected members of assemblies would take oath.
With an overwhelming majority in the assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would form the government while the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) would serve as the opposition with about two dozen members.
