Rawalpindi Commissioner Khalid Masood Chaudhary said on Tuesday that an electricity load management plan which provided relief to the residents should be devised.
While presiding over a meeting regarding load management, he directed the concerned authorities to promulgate a new load shedding schedule and send its copy to the district government so that the citizens could also be duly informed.
Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) Director Salman Ullah was also present. He said that the continuous load shedding had worsened the city’s water issue and effective steps should be taken to resolve it. He said a strategy needed to be devised to ensure smooth electricity supply to tube-wells so that the water supply was not affected.
Salman Ullah added that a Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) officials’ team should be constituted for three months to solve the residents’ problems. He directed the district administration and WAPDA officials to remain in contact with the people.
