Defence of Human Rights (DHR) Chairperson Amina Masood Janjua hoped that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif would fulfill his promise regarding the recovery of missing persons while talking to the media outside the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan.

She said that Nawaz Sharif had once visited the missing persons’ recovery camp recovery and pledged their prompt return to their families. The time had come to honour his promise.

Janjua said that the present Judicial Commission for the missing persons’ recovery remained inefficient as it had dismissed 60 cases, because of which the SC was compelled to hear those cases.

She informed that student Hafiz Muhammad Tayyab of Abbotabad who had been detained in Lakki Marwat Scouts’ fort was among the many who have been missing. Janjua said that she had presented a list of 95 missing persons in the court in which it was appealed that their recovery cases should be heard in open courts
