JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said his party was engaged with PML-N for formation of a new government in the Centre.
Addressing a new conference after a meeting of executive committee of his party on Monday‚ he said his party had presented its priorities to the PML-N for formation of the new government and was waiting for a reply.
Fazl said parliamentary committee of JUI-F Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had been authorised to hold negotiations with other parties in the province and prepare strategy regarding formation of new government.
According to media reports, Nawaz is willing to include Fazl in the cabinet, so that he can bring the Taliban to the negotiating table.
Post-May 11 elections, the JUI-F tried its best to form a provincial government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with the support of PML-N, Aftab Ahmad Sherpao’s Qaumi Watan Party and successful independent candidates. However, Nawaz Sharif did not give Fazl the go-ahead.
In Balochistan too, the party tried to form a coalition government. However, after failing to woo other parties, JUI-F would sit in the opposition benches.
