IHC orders to submit appointment letter of IG’s son

The Islamabad High Court resumed hearing of petition filed against the appointment of Islamabad IGP Bin Yamin’s son Umar Amin as director of the Bomb Disposal Squad.

According to media reports, the court had ordered submitting the appointment letter of Umar Amin.

IHC Chief Justice Muhammad Kasi conducted hearing in the petition filed by former director of BDS Major (r) Tabassam, who claimed in his petition that the IGP had violated departmental rules and regulations while appointing his son as the BDS director.

The court was told that the petitioner, Tabassam, was replaced by Umar Amin despite the former appointed to the office until 2014 per contract.

After hearing preliminary discussion, the court ordered the petitioner to attach the suspension notification of the petitioner and appointment letter of the accused before the court.
