At least two security officials were killed on Sunday in an attack by militants on a security check post in Bannu.
The incident took place in Janikhel area where armed personnel attacked on-duty security officials.
A heavy contingent of armed forces reached the location while the dead bodies were transferred to a hospital.
The site was cordoned off by forces and a search operation in the area was initiated.
Earlier, at least four security officials were killed and six sustained injuries when a roadside remote-controlled bomb exploded near their convoy in Bannu on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in another incident, security forces defused a roadside-planted improvised explosive device (IED), weighing 10 kilogrammes, in Karboga Sharif area of Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
