In a statement issued on Saturday, Pakistan Workers Federation General Secretary Khurshid Ahmed said the government should raise salaries of government, semi-government and private sector employees by 30 percent along with pension benefits in the forthcoming budget. The workers urged the newly-elected government to raise minimum wages to Rs 15,000. Ahmed said the newly-elected government should accord the highest priority to overcome power outages in the country by providing gas and oil to closed thermal power stations at the earliest.
