Purchasing Lahori room coolers has become a distant dream for citizens due to their soaring prices.
Every summer, the city would go on a cooler shopping spree, preferring the product as it provided a cheaper alternative to air conditioners and other kinds of coolers.
However, this year room cooler sellers have enhanced their prices by 50 percent due to the phenomenal rise in their demand amidst the unforgiving heat wave which has swept the entire country.
A room cooler previously sold for Rs 4000 last year was now available at Rs 6000, while the Rs 6000 room cooler had now appreciated to the Rs 8000-9000 price bracket.
Citizens demanded the district administration to check the rising prices of the room coolers.
