Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday held a meeting with Pir Pagara, chief of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), in Karachi and formally offered his party to join the government at the centre, which the latter accepted.
The overture came as Shahbaz met Pagara at the latter’s residence.
During the meeting, Pagara felicitated Shahbaz over the success of the PML-N in the May 11 elections. The two leaders also exchanged views on issues pertaining to government formation at the centre and taking on the role of opposition in Sindh.
During the meeting, the PML-N leader formally invited Pagara to join the federal government.
Earlier, talking to media at Karachi airport, Shahbaz said that the PML-N would form the government in the centre with the cooperation of its allies.
He said Nawaz Sharif would abide by his promise of resolving problems of Sindh and Karachi.
“We will start metro bus service in Karachi as promised by Nawaz Sharif,” he added.
