The Judicial Commission (JC) on Saturday recommended one-year extension in service of nine additional judges of Sindh and Peshawar high courts and regularisation of four additional judges of Peshawar High Court (PHC).
Media reports said a meeting of the JC was held under Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry, which was attended by the caretaker law minister, representative of Pakistan Bar Council and Attorney General.
The JC recommended extension in service of six additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) and 3 additional judges of the LHC. During the meeting SHC Justice Habibur Rehman’s name was dropped.
Extension in service was recommended of SHC Justice Azizur Rehman, Justice Aftab Ahmad, Justice Riazat Ali, Justice Salahud Panore, Justice Farooq Ali Channa and Justice Farooq Shah and PHC Justice Qaisar Rashid, Justice Waqar Ahmad Saith and Justice Nasir Hussain.
The PHC judges recommended to be regularised are Justice Asadullah Chamkani, Justice Roohul Amin, Justice Irshad Qaisar and Justice Shah Jahan Akhunzada.
