A speeding oil tanker turned turtle at Karsaz area of the metropolis on Saturday, killing the driver and injuring two others.
According to reports, the tanker overturned while taking a sharp turn at Karsaz flyover. As a result, driver Abdul Jabbar died on the spot while two others were injured.
Meanwhile, thousands of litres of oil started flowing out of the tanker after it developed a leak. The traffic flow remained suspended for a long time due to the overspill.
A larger number of people gathered at the site of the incident and started filling up their bottles and buckets with oil.
Later, rescue teams reached the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
