Aamir Hussain, key accused in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) multibillion rupee scam, was arrested on Friday by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to FIA Sindh Director Muhammad Malik, Hussain was taken into custody in Karachi, adding that the agency was in contact with the Interpol to arrest other absconders, including Ameen Qasim Dada and Khalid Anwer.
Sources revealed that Hussain was allegedly involved in irregularities in acquiring lands, while Pakistan People’s Party leader and former commerce minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim and former trade secretary Suleman Ghani were on bail in the NICL case.
