The Karachi Police, after launching a fresh drive against criminals in the metropolis, arrested 48 accused during the past 24 hours.
A police statement released here on Wednesday said that those arrested included nine absconders, one proclaimed offender and two alleged extortionists.
It said that eight weapons of different calibres as well as 14 hand grenades were also recovered from the possession of the nabbed accused.
Meanwhile, action was also initiated against 22 motorcyclists for violating the ban on pillion riding, the police statement added.
