PML-N govt will make all-out efforts to revamp economy, overcome energy crisis: Nawaz

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said his government will make all-out efforts to revamp the economy and overcome the energy crisis on a priority basis.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the heads of public departments would be appointed strictly on merit with a view to bolster the economy and tackle other national crises.

“Boards will be formed for the revival of public corporations such as PIA, WAPDA, Railways, OGDCL, and the Pakistan Steel Mills,” he added.

Nawaz said his government would launch a programme for the utilisation of the expertise of Pakistani expatriates for the development and progress of the country.

The PML-N leader said his party’s government would also initiate a crash programme not only to end the energy shortage but also to create job opportunities for the educated youth, skilled people and professionals in addition to providing shelter to the poor families.

To a question, Nawaz said the energy shortage was the most serious problem and all efforts would be made to overcome it.

He said the PML-N governments in the past had always made the country secure, strong and sovereign and this time also it wanted to serve the country with a determination to put its economy on the path to progress.
