The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Tuesday chalked out a special traffic plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city during the two day long visit of the Chinese prime minister, beginning today.
An additional 264 officers have been deployed for this purpose.
Alternate routes have been designated for the citizens’ convenience.
Under the traffic plan‚ vehicles moving from Rawalpindi and the airport would approach the Pakistan Secretariat through the 7th and 9th Avenues and Margalla Road. Traffic from Rawal Dam and Murree would follow the Dhokri Chowk route‚ onto Kashmir Highway and then take any link to the 7thAvenue‚ Embassy Road‚ Suhrawardhy Road and Blue Area.
Radio Pakistan Chowk and Foreign Office Chowk would remain closed to traffic as per the programme.
