Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahbaz Sharif met Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai in Quetta on Sunday and discussed the overall situation of the country, and Balochistan, especially issues relating to formation of the next government in the province.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said the next chief minister of Balochistan would be finalised after mutual consultations.
He said PML-N had struck an alliance with PkMAP and National Party (NP), and together they would form the government and redress the grievances of the province.
Sharif said a decision on the Balochistan chief minister would be made soon after Nawaz Sharif’s consent.
He said, “We have learnt a lesson from past mistakes and decided to introduce a model government that will put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.”
He said PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif wanted to take serious steps to remove the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan. The issues of the province will be resolved amicably with joint efforts of all political stakeholders, he added.
Earlier, he met Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, PML-N Balochistan president and offered prayers for his son, brother and nephew, who were killed in a bomb attack prior to elections.
Sharif said his party along with its allies would try its level best to steer the country out of the crises it is facing.
He said the PML-N would do its best to eliminate corruption, terrorism, load shedding, and will resolve issues of agriculture in the country, particularly in Balochistan.
He said people have given mandate to those who are against corruption.
Responding to a question about the meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Shahbaz said the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. He said security matters and the situation in the region were discussed in the meeting.
The PML-N leader pledged to bolster development projects in Balochistan.
Shahbaz Sharif also held a meeting with National Party chief Abdul Malik Baloch in Quetta on Sunday and discussed issues pertaining to formation of government in Balochistan.
PML-N leaders Chaudhry Nisar and Sanaullah Zehri and National Party leader Mir Hasel Bizenjo were also present on the occasion.
