Power cuts cut into water supply

An acute potable water shortage has been creating problems for I-10/2 residents who have been compelled to buy water containers with the rising water need as the heat approaches.

Persistent power cuts hinder the supply of clean drinking water, but there seemed to be no way out for them as the civic agency’s water filtration plants have also failed in their purpose as the sector’s residents were made to wait in slow moving queues due to low water pressure, said resident Jamal Shahid.

“Consistent power interruptions are depriving us of even potable water. We have to call for unaffordable water containers to fulfill this basic need,” said I-10/2 resident Munawer Saeed.

Another resident Fazal Khan said while waiting in the filtration plant queue, “The inefficient running of the filtration plant annoys us due to the long wait for even a single bucket of water.” He added that there were only two water filtration plants in sector I-10/2.

The sector’s residents demanded the authorities to address the issue immediately.
