Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), after getting a simple majority in the National Assembly (NA) is all set to bring its own setup throughout the country, foremost amongst which would be replacing Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad, sources revealed.
A report by a web-based news agency said the Sharifs think it is important to replace the Sindh governor.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) governor in Punjab, Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmud, has already resigned saying the new government should bring its own governor in the province.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad is likely to be replaced by former governor Mamnoon Hussain or Senator Mushahidullah Khan. The move will be aimed at having a strong administrative grip in the province, where PPP and MQM have emerged as the leading parties.
For Balochistan governor, Abdul Qadir Baloch, is a strong contender, said sources.
In the restive province of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra may be the next governor owing to strong family links he has all over the province.
