Police claimed to have arrested 39 accused in the latest drives launched against criminals during the past 24 hours in the metropolis.
A police statement released here on Friday said that those arrested included four absconders and two alleged dacoits.
It said that nine weapons of different calibres were also recovered from those arrested.
The statement further added that the police, in an encounter that took place in the jurisdiction of Clifton Police Station, killed an alleged dacoit.
Meanwhile, action was initiated against 18 motorcyclists for violating the ban on pillion riding.
