The Iran Consulate General on Thursday congratulated the caretaker government for successfully holding elections in the country. It also felicitated the successful candidates from the national and provincial assemblies, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif for his spectacular victory. Iranian President Ahmadinejad sent a congratulatory message to Sharif and also spoke to him on the telephone. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Iraqchi also congratulated the PML-N leadership and hoped that Iran-Pakistan relations would continue to progress in their tenure.
