The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday rejected the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) petition seeking re-polling in the entire NA-250 constituency of Karachi.
Furthermore, the ECP declared that re-polling would only be held in 43 polling stations in Karachi’s NA-250.
Moreover, it was decided that military personnel would be deployed both inside and outside the polling stations during re-polling.
Earlier, the ECP in a meeting headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim had reserved the decision to hold re-polling in NA-250 following MQM’s petition.
In a latest development, MQM’s Rabita Committee called an emergency meeting to protest against the decision of the ECP.
