Human hip bone evolution process less complex than thought

A recent research has shown process of evolution of human hip bone is not as much complicated as it was thought. The study was based on a comparison of genetic distances between humans and other species. It also asserted that living species are closely related to each other. The researchers assessed the hip structures of the Australian lung fish and the Axoloti, or Mexican Walking Fish and compared it with humans. They said after the examinations that evolution from the fish hip structure to the human hip structure could have occurred only ion few steps. Further, the avowed the change was not as complicated as it was thought. Dr. Catherine Boisvert of the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute at Monash University, who co-authored the study said many muscles I tetrapods thought to be new have actually evolved from muscles already present in lungfish.
