The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by Sadia Rahat for recovering her missing husband Naveed Butt, remarking that the case had already been transferred to the Lahore High Court (LHC).
A 3-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition.
The court directed the petitioner to the LHC for relief. “We have already asked the LHC to settle this matter”, the court remarked.
The petitioner insisted that the SC hear her case, as she had no hope of justice from the LHC.
The CJP said that all the country’s courts functioned within their domain therefore she should turn to the LHC for her petition.
