United States Ambassador Richard Olson praised the collaborative work of American and Pakistani artists at an exhibition’s opening on Wednesday at the Serena Hotel’s Satrang Gallery.
The exhibition entitled “What Remain Are Children’s Lullabies” featured the artwork of two US and four Pakistani artists who worked together for a year to create a series of images that explored women’s rights and cultural identity.
“Building cultural ties creates mutual understanding and enhances productive dialogue.It also enables inspiring collaboration, such as the kind we saw today in this exhibit,” said Ambassador Olson.
Olson emphasised the US government’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties between the US and Pakistan. The US Embassy in Islamabad has established the largest cultural and exchange program anywhere in the world, and sends nearly 1,000 Pakistanis to the US every year for cultural, academic, and professional exchange programs.
