Chief secretary for speedy work at Pakistan Textile City

Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry has advised the secretaries of Planning & Development of Local Government Department to jointly ensure the expeditious activation of the Pakistan Textile City Limited (PTCL), in accordance with its charter.
He expressed these view while presiding over a review meeting pertaining to the issues of PTCL. The main issue was identified as water connection problem, which required ample funds. The KWSB authorities, apprised the meeting that they would get the work started on the same without further delay.
The meeting discussed the issue of PTCL and PTCL Chairman Mirza Ikhtiar Baig informed about the salient features of the project.
The chief secretary noted that every issue must be resolved to the complete satisfaction of the stake-holders engaged in the development process of PTCL. It was decided that secretary Local Government would resubmit the development plan, in consultation with the Finance & P&D (Planning & Development) Department, and approbation from Ministers of Textile & Finance shall be obtained for smooth implementation of PTCL, approved by Government of Pakistan in 2004. The land measuring 1,250 acre had been allocated around Port Qasim areas which was under the possession of PTCL management.
Those who attended the meeting included P&D ACS Arif Ahmed Khan, SGA&CD Naheed Shah Secretary Implementation, Special Secretary Local Government Irfan Memon, PTCL CEO Zaheer Hussain and KWSB DMD Waqar Ahmed Hashmi.
Meanwhile, Lisa Stadlmayr, the long term observer of European Union Election Observation Mission (EUEOM) accompanied by (EUEOM) analyst Sosen Sonderstrat, called on Chief Secretary Ijaz and thanked him for facilitating the EUEOM in observing the electioneering. The chief secretary assured them of cooperation whenever required.
