Bulls sway Lahore Stock Exchange

The bulls swayed the Lahore Stock Exchange on the third consecutive day on Wednesday by once again overpowering the bears, with LSE-25 Index gained 93.99 points after opening at 4216.35 and closing at 4310.34 points. The market’s overall situation also corresponded to an upward trend as it remained at 7.794 million shares to close against previous turnover of 6.122 million shares, showing an upward move of 1.671 million shares. Out of the total 93 active scrips, 30 moved up, 41 remained equal and 30 shed values. Muslim Commercial Bank Limited, Pakistan State Oil Company Limited and Engro Corporation Limited were major gainers of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 11.01, Rs 8.04 and Rs 1.65, respectively. Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Adamjee Insurance Company and Engro Foods Limited lost their per share value by Rs 3.80, Rs 2.99 and Rs 2.00, respectively. The volume leader of the day included The Bank of Punjab Limited with 1.945 million shares, Southern Electric Power with 1.491 million shares and Byco Petroleum Pakistan with 669,000 shares.
