Altaf in trouble with London police

The London Metropolitan police is investigating complaints by hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens against Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said Wednesday.

Adam Thomson told newsmen that London Metropolitan police had received hundreds of complaints from British and Pakistan citizens against Altaf Hussain’s recent statements.

In an ominous sounding speech on Sunday night, Altaf Hussain told ‘the establishment’  to separate Karachi from the rest of Pakistan if the public mandate of his party was unacceptable, and ‘warned to make an example’ out of protesters at Karachi’s Teen Talwar (three swords).

“Under British laws promoting hatred and violence is liable to punishment and Altaf Hussain’s statements must be taken seriously,” Thomson said adding that London police was independent to investigate the complaints and was under no pressure from the UK government.

He, however, observed that Altaf had later denied making such statements.

Responding to a query about extradition the British High Commissioner said that that Pakistan and United Kingdom have no formal extradition treaty. He said that Altaf’s extradition was possible but there were legal complications associated with the process.

  16. Fortunately. there are no laws against asking for respect or freedom. Otherwise there would be international arrest warrants against leaders of Palestine, South Africa, Kosovo, South Sudan, East Timor and Kashmir.
    Pakistan should learn from its mistakes, we lost Bangladesh because of lack of distributional justice, and now we are taking away resource from Karachi (which generates 67 per cent of revenue) and giving it back only 10 per cent. Of course, Karachiites are angry.

  18. There is no leader great like Altaf Hussain. Though he is not here but we love him more than any other leader in Pakistan. He knows politics of Pakistan, where no one else could dare to speak against corrupt, feudalistic and mean political system. He made Karachi a business hub by his beloved worker Mustafa Kamal (city nazim). This is not tolerated by anti karachiite minded people living in other province. His present sentence may appear as harsh to other people but its language that strikes on other politicians to know what he wanted to convey. he is the leader of sons of those who created, built and wanted to its glory in future. be sure that we all love him as such.

  27. Altaf Hussain (commonly known as Altaf Bhai) is a seasoned politician of this country. Off late, Bhai is in the habit of giving a statement, and then immediately backing out from his words. This time Bhai has crossed all the limits by saying to separate Karachi from Pakistan. And then threatening TV anchors of various pvt channels. We thought that Altaf Bhai is a politician but he seems to be more of a Don and less of a Political leader. Altaf Bhai owes an apology to the nation nothing less. Moreover, C.J of Pak should immediately take stern notice of Bhais statement (guess Bhai was under strong influence of liquor while giving such statement) and summon him to court for clarification of his position. Moreover, soon Bhai is going to be in deep trouble in London as well. MQM loca leaders to rush to London and save bahi or take him to Sudan for Political Asylem. . .

  32. Altaf Hussain is leader of a vast majority of urban Sindh. Right or wrong he may be but it would be very unfortunate for our already torn nation if we ignore the mandate that he and his party hold. Its time to cool down ourselves after elections and sit together just like Mian Sahib and Imran Khan vowed, to get this nation out of the miseries.

  33. Dear readers, this is my humble request to kindly raise issue of Pakistani passports' matter which are still not being delivered. I came to Pakistan from Saudia after 2 years for 45 days leave and applied for passport's renewal in January 9,2013. I did whatever I could to get my passport but still waiting. Luckily my employers have understood the situation and have granted me leave till May 30th. If I could not get my PP by the time I am definitely going to loose my job. Kindly help me by raising your voice at all fora. thanks

After seeing peoples reaction to his statement, Altaf Bhai had no guts to stick to his words and immediately backed out from his words. Then when election commission of Pakistan gave a verdict against MQM, bahi boycotted the election becoz he knew tht his party gonna loose badlyyy. PTI has now indicated the involvement of Bhai in killing of PTI activist. No wonder that sooon bhai will be arrested on various charges by the London police and deported back . .

Most of all of the Karachi seem to condemn what MQM stands for,all claim that MQM is responsible for most all the killings and unrest in Karachi,Sindh for that matter,yet the people of Karachi continue to vote for the party,Im confused,Altaf still seems to have a lot of support even if you take away the fact that they cheated.So which is it Sindh people?

I know MQM is an organized gang /party of culprits which is headed by Altaf Hussain .It spreads hatred among the different communities.Extortion,target killing ,abduction and all heinous crimes are committed by MQM at the instructions of Altaf Hussain and his Rabita Committee(CoordinationCommitte which comprises of so-called eduacted persons having criminal mentality).Till to-day thousands of innocant people have been killed by MQM at the instructions of Altaf Hussain.
    I don't think that Brithish Police will take any action against him due to their own vested interest.
