10 arrested, alcohol, narcotics seized

Islamabad Police on Wednesday arrested 10 outlaws from various areas of the city and confiscated a tampered vehicle, 385 bottles of wine, narcotics, weapons and stolen valuables, informed a police spokesman.

Margalla Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mumtaz Beg and his team arrested two bootleggers Sarfraz Ashraf and Shoukat Masih and took custody of 240 wine bottles while ASI Muhammad Nawaz recovered the tampered car from the accused, Awais Riaz Khan. ASIs Ahmed Usman and Saffdar Hussain of Kohsar Police Station arrested two bootleggers identified as Faraz Ejaz Masih and Nadeem Masih and recovered 145 wine bottles from them.

Further, Sub-Inspectors Alamgir Khan and Muhammad Ishaq arrested Ghulam and Sher Ali for 415 grams of hashish and 120 grams of heroine found in their possession, and ASI Tariq Khan from Sabzi Mandi Police Station arrested Jehanzeb for installing 11 gas cylinders in buses. ASIs Aurangzeb and Muhammad Arshad from Sihala Police Station arrested Dost Muhammad and Usman for illegally possessing one 30 bore pistol each.

Moreover, Sub-Inspector Abdul Gahfoor from Secretariat Police Station arrested Awais Khan and recovered stolen valuables from him.

Cases were registered against those arrested and further investigations initiated.

Islamabad Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Yaseen Farooq appreciated the police officials’ performance and directed all police station heads to crackdown on such illegal activities.
