Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has reiterated that the next phase of transfer of power would be completed without any delay as stipulated in the constitution.
Talking to Information Minister Arif Nizami who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday‚ the prime minister said the government believed in freedom of media and appreciated its role as a watchdog‚ besides creating awareness among the people.
Nizami informed the prime minister that a large number of foreign media and observers were facilitated and given free access to report and observe for themselves the conduct of elections.
Meanwhile‚ Interior Minister Malik Muhammad Habib Khan called on the prime minister and briefed him about the prevailing law and order in the country.
He also briefed the prime minister about the security arrangements made by the Ministry of Interior in close coordination with the provincial authorities‚ security and intelligence agencies to provide a conducive environment for holding free‚ fair and transparent elections in the country.
Speaking on the occasion‚ the prime minister said holding of elections in a peaceful manner was a success of the interim government.
