Imran fell due to inexperienced lifter driver: report

The inexperienced lifter driver was responsible for the fall of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan at an election rally in Lahore’s Ghalib market days before elections, according to an inquiry report on the incident. On May 9, Khan fell from the lifter as he was being lifted to address a rally. Following his fall and initial medical aid, Khan he was shifted to Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital. Police DIG Investigation Zulfiqar Ameen was nominated for an inquiry of the incident. He has sent a complete inquiry report to the Punjab IG. The report said the driver was inexperienced and moved the lifter back and forth when Imran was going up. Because of the movement, the lifter became unstable causing the accident.
