Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday alleged that President Asif Ali Zardari was involved in rigging in NA-203.
He said Zardari’s gangsters had attacked 38 polling stations, had made the presiding officers hostage and cast bogus votes.
Talking to reporters, Qureshi demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) either take action against those who had changed the results or hold re-polling under the supervision of the army and the Rangers on those specific 38 polling stations of the area.
“Two days have been passed but I haven’t been informed about the results yet,” he said. He clarified that he would not let anyone to rob his mandate.
Qureshi said the returning officer (RO) had informed the chief election commissioner (CEC) when he was on visit to NA-230 that a special telephone call from Islamabad overturned the situation.
“I informed the Rangers DG that ballot papers were being carried away and the Rangers recovered stamped ballot papers from 38 polling stations,” he said.
