Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday said his party will play an effective role in the opposition.
While talking to media personnel, Qureshi said the PTI had emerged as the second biggest party after elections.
He said people had rejected the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in elections.
Qureshi won his National Assembly seat from Multan.
He said PTI would play an active role on opposition benches. Qureshi also invited independent candidates to join PTI.
Talking on his defeat in his native constituency NA-148, Qureshi viewed he had not participated in by-polls which had weakened his position in the constituency.
Qureshi also congratulated Jamshed Ahmed Khan Dasti on his victory from NA-178.
Qureshi further said the PTI could not sweep polls nationwide owing to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to extend polling deadline by an hour.
Qureshi said his party will take into account all rigging allegations that have been made and then decide upon forwarding a collective complaint to the ECP.
“We plan on being the toughest and most disciplined opposition in the history of Pakistan,” he added.

Yes, great job against all odds, i am very proud of our team and leadership, some very blatant rigging took place, which the ECP seriously need to investigate and punish the people responsible to set a precedent for others. ECP needs to do a lot more and improve on it's methods, processes and internal governance by integration of technology, which should have been done over 15 years ago.
