A meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership on Sunday at Raiwind pledged to jointly work with all political parties in the next set up.
The meeting was chaired by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and reviewed various procedures on how to work with other political parties. It was also discussed to introduce Ishaq Dar as the federal finance minister while Shahbaz Sharif would in all probability come as chief minister in Punjab.
Participant of the meeting said PML-N respected the mandate given by people to all political parties in the country. Earlier on Saturday, the Sharif brothers claimed victory in the general elections, announcing that Nawaz Sharif would stake claim for premiership.
Speaking to supporters in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif thanked the nation for reposing trust in him.
Nawaz Sharif has remained prime minister twice – in 1990 and 1997 – but both of his governments were prematurely dismissed, once by the then president Ghulam Ishaq Khan and then in 1999 in a military coup by former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf.
