Former Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Asma Jahangir has said the nation has proved that if it can bring politicians to the corridors of power, it can also send them out if they prove to be incompetent.
Talking to journalists on Monday, she said, “I have read the PPP leaders’ media statements but I want to make it clear to them that people had been fed up due to the severe energy crisis,” she said.
She said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should learn a lesson from the ANP and accept its defeat.
Referring to the Election Commission of Pakistan, she said all the parties including the PTI had expressed satisfaction over appointment of Fakhruddin G Ibrahim as chief election commissioner.
She underscored that “democracy means you should respect the mandate of the people”.
