Police claimed to have seized more explosives as the tally of those killed in the heinous incident in the reached 11, officials said on Sunday.
According to SP Shah Jahan, about two kilogrammes of detonating material was recovered from Baldia Town area of the city, reported a private news channel on Sunday.
Earlier, dozens were wounded when a bomb blast ripped through the Dawood intersection in Quaidabad yesterday when the country was voting in the historic general elections.
“We received 11 dead bodies and several people were also injured,” confirmed Jinnah Hospital’s emergency department head Semi Jamali.
Police said the bomb exploded near the car of an ANP candidate, who it seemed was the apparent target of the attack. Moreover, the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan reportedly claimed responsibility of the blast.
