Minhajul Quran protests against polls

Tehrik-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran (TMQ) activists staged a sit-in against the elections in front of the Punjab Assembly on Saturday.

A large number of workers including women and children participated in the sit-in which started at 8am and concluded at 3 pm. The protest was led by led by Dr Rahiq Ahmad Abbasi.

The protestors were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans against the ‘corrupt’ polling system.

Dr Tahirul Qadri, talking to the participants through a video link, said the Election Commission of Pakistan had paved the way for bogus degree holders and corrupt people to reach assemblies.
