MQM deputy convener Farooq Sattar, MQM Haqiqi chief Afaq Ahmad and PPP leader Muzaffar Ahmad Tappi called on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakharuddin G Ebrahim on Friday and apprised him of their security concerns on the election day.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) sources said Farooq Sattar, Afaq Ahmad and Owais Muzaffar Tappi held separate meetings with the CEC and expressed their reservations over inadequate security arrangements demanding that security be stepped up at polling stations in Sindh during polls.
Owais Muzaffar Tappi demanded of the CEC to deploy army on polling stations at Thatha to avert massive polls rigging planned there.
